Hubble Space Telescope (1990)

Another important event in 1990 was the launching of the Hubble Space telescope. Even though it was not the first space telescope, the Hubble was one of the largest and most versatile. It was launched into orbit by a space shuttle and it was built by NASA. The Hubble orbits outside the Earth's atmosphere which allows it to take very sharp and clear images.
In 1993 one of the Hubble's main mirrors was turned incorrectly, which withdrew many of the Hubble's abilities. Luckily, scientists and astronauts were able to fix the problem and the Hubble's            abilities were restored. The Hubble Space Telescope is something that Americans are fortunate to have, so that we can see what the world looks like from space.
This is a picture of a galaxy that the
Hubble Space Telescope took.
This is the Crab Nebula, a remnant of
a supernova that Chinese observers
recorded.
